Someone please, please, plu-heeeeeeeeeeeese give me a topic to write about....:)
(I cover "all things kids" and "all things mom" in the West Chester area for examiner.com. But, don't hestiate to "weigh in even if you live outside of the area)
Here's what I've been thinking about. If you have thoughts, products, services or just ideas, I'd love to hear about them. Just drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Part time versus flex time: During a recent interview on the Today show, two experts advised moms to ask for flex time options instead of part time options when trying to secure a more flexible work schedule. The argument was that when employers hear "part time" they think "non committed," but flex time has a more positive connotation to it.
What has been your experience?
Teaching kids gratitude: The Thanksgiving season is almost upon us with Christmas right at its heels. (Though, big box stores seem to think that Christmas arrives right after Labor Day). Do you take strides to keep your children grounded and thankful during this season? Do you take steps for yourself? Have you decided to scale back or not make any changes at all? Would love to hear about any of this.......
Grandparent or family gifts Getting gifts for the grandparents and aunts and uncles is always hard. I think I've already done every Kodak Gallery product already. Does anyone have any hand made gift ideas? That'd be a really popular story.
Here's what I'm always interested in....
1. Any suggestions on ways to keep mom's identity (a group, a business etc. etc.)
2. Any 'off the beaten path' idea to do with kids (for example, see the Paoli and Ghost Tour story)
3. Any thing you've done to empower kids (see the manners and Dave Magrogan story)
4. Any mom who sees an unmet local need and takes action (see my story on Angela Myrtetus and Meals on Wheels)
Thanks!! Look forward to hearing from you!
