I had a recent conversation with some women and we were discussing who was a 'lights on' and a 'lights off' woman~! It got me thinking why do most women want to hide their beauty with the lights off and others are comfortable with the lights on. Is it the fact that 66% percent of Americans are overweight? Is it because we are way too hard on ourselves? As one person said---we all have scares and flaws inside and out. It is our true beauty that shines when we let go and fear no more. I did not have freedom with my body image until about age 40. What took me so long I wonder? I got in shape with some at home DVD workouts and I finally learned how to accept myself. But I wasted about 25 years being hard on myself. Are you hard on yourself too? Maybe our freedom with self image can come with age and maybe it will come with getting in shape. I am not sure. But, if you still have the lights off maybe it is time to take action and see your true beauty with the lights on! You may rediscover something very special. WHAT are you---a Lights on or a Lights off woman and tell us why! (I used At home DVD workouts by Beachbody--they work miracles and are available in the BTBS Store for purchase-)

Ok getting the hang of your website! Love it Suzy! and the article on lights on...definately a lights on girl. Looking into my lover's eyes and being comfortable in my own skin...yep lights on definately!

Another great note from a BTBS mom!!! I hope this inspires others---Thanks Maureen!

My take on this is LIGHTS ON BABY!!!! Its so much more sensual in my mind as I get to look into my husband's eyes. As to my level of comfort with my body, I gave up on perfection after the emergency C-Section. In my life I have always embraced who I am no matter what size. I enjoyed it at different times and then, when I let people get into my head, then its a different wave entirely. Its because I am a woman who is a wife and mother that I can go beyond the superficial nature some people feel comfortable with because they themselves can't handle being who they are.

Here is input from one brave mom--- She wrote to me "I have always been a lights on woman. I look better now at 47 than I did when I graduated high school. Then I was almost a size 9 and I am a size 5 now. 120 lbs. but my boobs - 36D - probably weigh at least 4-5 pounds. But I am muscular, so that also counts as something."
