THROW OUT AND REPLACE LIST: You want to go through your
food pantry, cupboards and refrigerator, and throw out the junk!
You are your kids role model and they eat only what you bring into
Also included is a list of foods that can REPLACE
your beloved junk food or drink:
- THROW OUT "white bread".
REPLACE WITH: Whole Wheat or sprouted wheat breads.
- THROW OUT "white and powdered sugar".
REPLACE WITH: Natural sweeteners like stevia or raw agave
- THROW OUT "white pasta".
REPLACE WITH: You can use sprouted grain pasta or brown rice pasta
or wheat pasta.
- THROW OUT "white rice".
REPLACE WITH: brown rice.
- THROW OUT "commercial cereals".
REPLACE WITH: cereals high in fiber and low in sugar.
- THROW OUT "potato chips, crackers and corn
chips with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils".
REPLACE WITH: Natural snacks like nuts, fruits, and snacks without
corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. Read the labels.
- THROW OUT "ice cream, candy, pie, cookies,
cake, pudding, etc".
REPLACE WITH: Natural desserts that you can make easily at
- TAKE IT SLOW! Don't try and eliminate all junk
food at one time. Encourage yourself by successfully eliminating
the first junk food, before cutting out the next. Start to
eliminate junk food, fastfood, processed food or anything in a box,
package or can.
